Fbkid's week 4 predictions

So far it has been a good football season as almost every team looks very competitive. For instance even though the Raiders are 1-2 they have proven they will compete as they have been in every game. The Bills are even worse at 0-3 but for a rebuilding team hasn't looked that bad as they almost had the Broncos at home and was playing even with the Patriots for most of the first half. What i'm trying to get to is, if you're a Saints or Rams fan the season isn't over yet. Remember, that's why they play the game! Here are my hit and miss picks of last week along with my fantasy studs and picks for this week.

Hit of the week: Bills 7 Patriots 38 My prediction: Bills 7 Patriots 35. This one was obvious as the Patriots have looked great so far and J.P. Losman looked terrible when playing.
Miss of the week: Lions 21 Eagles 56 My prediction: Lions 23 Eagles 20. Go ahead laugh all you want but the pick made sense at the time. The Lions have great receivers and the Eagles looked bad in the secondary. But Brian Westbrook and Donovan McNabb both had excellent games to get the Eagles the win.

Game of the weak: Raiders vs Dolphins: You have to love the quality quarterback play in this game.
Game of the week: Broncos vs Colts: Two of the best teams in the AFC face off in a game that should go down to the wire. This could be as good as it gets until the Colts play the Patriots.

Last Week: 11-5
Season: 34-14

Texans 20 Falcons 13
Ravens 24 Browns 16
Raiders 17 Dolphins 20
Bears 24 Lions 28
Jets 27 Bills 10
Packers 24 Vikings 17
Rams 10 Cowboys 35
Seahawks 27 49ers 21
Bucs 14 Panthers 17
Chiefs 17 Chargers 28
Broncos 24 Colts 27
Steelers 28 Cardinals 20
Eagles 35 Giants 24
Patriots 38 Bengals 17

Fantasy Studs:
QB: Donovan McNabb vs Giants: The Giants have allowed big yards to quarterbacks all year. Look for McNabb to continue the trend.
RB: Marion Barber III vs Rams: The Rams have one of the worst rush defenses in the league and the Cowboys should be trying to run down the clock. Look for Barber to get at least 2 touchdowns as well.
WR: Joey Galloway vs Panthers: Recently the Panthers secondary has played very poorly. Look for Jeff Garcia to expose that with Galloway's speed. Expect around 110 yards and a touchdown.
TE: Antonio Gates vs Chiefs: The Chargers really looked to get the ball to Gates last week and expect the trend to continue. He should get at least a touchdown.
K: Jason Hanson vs Bears: This game could have lots of scoring and Hanson should definitely benifit. If Hanson isn't even on a team in your league, pick him up and soon.
DEF: Cowboys vs Rams: The Cowboys defense looks very good and the Rams offense looks terrible. Look for the Cowboys to get lots of pressure on Marc Bulger as Steven Jackson won't be playing.

Fbkid's week 3 predictions

So far it has been a crazy season as many teams have surprised. Nobody would have expected the Saints to be 0 and 2 and the Packers being 2 and 0. So here are my week 3 picks and fantasy studs.

Game of the weak: Browns vs Raiders: This is as obvious as it gets
Game of the week: Cowboys vs Bears: Many of the NFL's brightest stars will be playing it the game should go down to the wire.

Last week:10-6
Season:23-9

Cardinals 16 Ravens 24
Chargers 28 Packers 21
Rams 17 Bucs 20
49ers 13 Steelers 24
Lions 23 Eagles 20
Dolphins 14 Jets 17
Bills 7 Patriots 35
Vikings 20 Chiefs 10
Colts 35 Texans 17
Bengals 28 Seahawks 35
Browns 13 Raiders 14
Jaguars 17 Broncos 28
Giants 21 Redskins 28
Panthers 35 Falcons 7
Cowboys 24 Bears 17
Titans 20 Saints 17

Fantasy Studs:
QB: Matt Hasselbeck vs Bengals: If Derek Anderson tore this defense apart with the weapons he has, what will Hasselbeck do?
RB: Travis Henry vs Jaguars: The Broncos have a great offenive line to begin with but the Jags will be without John Henderson who is great at clogging up the middle. Expect around 100 plus yards and a touchdown from Henry.
WR: Steve Smith vs Falcons: Look for Smith to keep up the great pace. Expect around 140 yards and a touchdown.
TE: Todd Heap vs Cardinals: Heap is put up solid numbers this year. Expect around 70 yards and a touchdown.
K: Josh Brown vs Bengals: Brown will have lots of oppurtunities this game as it should be a shootout.
Def: Vikings vs Chiefs: The Chiefs have a terrible pass offense so far and the Vikings defense has looked great so far. Plus the Vikes had the no.1 rush defense last year so they should stop Larry Johnson.

Fbkid's week 2 predictions

It was great to have football back as it was a fun week 1. Hopefully this week will be as good as the next. My picks were spot on last week as I went 13-3 here is my hit and miss of the week.
Hit: Prediction: Steelers 35 Browns 7 Actual Score: Steelers 34 Browns 7
This one wasn't that hard to predict as the Browns offense looked terrible and the Steelers were throwing all over them.

Miss: Prediction: Eagles 28 Packers 21 Actual Score: Eagles
13 Packers 16
This pick looked bad considering I had the Eagles being the NFC's representive for the Super Bowl. Hopefully they will backup my pick this week.

Well here are my week 2 picks and my fantasy studs.

Game of the week: Chargers vs Patriots: The cheating allegations the Patriots are facing just adds more fuel to the hype machine. This should be a great game with lots of the NFL's biggest stars on display.

Game of the weak: Chiefs vs Bears: If you are a fan of offense this one isn't for you. It could end up being a one sided affair which won't be fun to watch.

Season:13-3
Colts 35 Titans 13
Packers 35 Giants 21
Bengals 42 Browns 7
Texans 17 Panthers 21
Saints 28 Bucs 14
Bills 10 Steelers 31
Falcons 13 Jaguars 20
49ers 21 Rams 24
Vikings 24 Lions 28
Seahawks 28 Cardinals 17
Cowboys 35 Dolphins 21
Chiefs 6 Bears 21
Jets 10 Ravens 24
Raiders 13 Broncos 28
Chargers 21 Patriots 28
Redskins 10 Eagles 21

Fantasy Studs:
QB:Carson Palmer vs Browns: If Ben Roethlisberger can tear up the Browns defense than what can Carson Palmer do?
RB: Joseph Addai vs Titans: The Colts always do well against the Titans and Addai should get lots of touches around the goalline.
WR: Donald Driver vs Giants: The Cowboys were all over the Giants secondary. Expect nothing different from Brett Favre and his number 1 target.
TE: Heath Miller vs Bills: Miller should get lots of looks in the red zone and could possibly get a couple touchdowns on Sunday.
K: Jason Elam vs Raiders: The Broncos could put up lots of points on the Raiders this week which will give Elam lots of oppurtunities.
Defense: Bears vs Chiefs: The Chiefs looked terrible on offense and the Bears defense is fully capable of playing a good game. Don't be surprised if you see a shutout.

Fbkid's fantasy football week 2 report

After watching games this week I noticed that every year some players have a breakout game in week one but do nothing for the rest of the year. Remember Frisman Jackson of the Cleveland Browns? I didn't think so. A couple years ago his first game of the season he had 12 catches for 147 yards and a touchdown. The rest of the year he caught 4 passes. Here are some players to get and avoid on the waiver wire this season.
The Real Deal:
Derrick Ward RB Giants: Now that Eli Manning is hurt the Giants should rely on the running game. Considering Brandon Jacobs is hurt Ward should get all of the work. He could be a good no.3 back and if you are in need of a running back he could be a good starting option.
Ronald Curry WR Raiders: The Raiders offense is one of the worst in the league but Curry could be a fantasy star. He really turned it on late last year and started off with a 100 yard game and a touchdown. Plus he had 10 receptions to go with it. He should be at least a no.3 receiver in reception leagues.
One Game Wonder:
Chris Brown RB Titans: Brown has been a popular pickup all week but don't buy into the hype. Brown is very injury prone and holes that the Titans opened up against the Jags won't be open too much in the NFL. Wait a few weeks to see if he keeps it up unil you make a move.
Antwaan Randle El WR Redskins: When you get 60 yards off of a tipped hail mary, that won't happen too much. That's why you shouldn't buy into the hype. He could be a good deep threat who gets a few passes thrown his way each game but that isn't worh a roster spot on your team.

The Cowboys are on the clock

When the Browns traded back into the first round with the Dallas Cowboys to get Brady Quinn it looked like they were getting a bargin. They got a top quarterback prospect who is also from the area. All Browns fans are happy but not so fast. The Browns traded there 2008 first round pick for Brady Quinn.

If you haven't seen them play yet, the Browns are pretty bad. They could go into the bye week 0-6 having to play the Bengals,Ravens and Patriots. Then afterwards the Browns play the Ravens,Steelers and Bengals all on the road.

So unless a few weeks from now the Browns play Quinn and get a couple miracles. The Cowboys will get the first pick.

Did I mention the Cowboys running back isn't quite settled? Julius Jones starts the games but inside the 20's Marion Barber gets all of the carries. If the Browns are as bad as it looks like they can be, Arkansas running back Darren McFadden will be a Cowboy. This will allow them to trade Julius Jones for a late first day pick. Plus Jerry Jones played college football at Arkansas so he should be very interested in McFadden.

So the Cowboys could possibly make make a big run in a weak NFC and get the first pick of the draft? What a year that would be for Cowboys fans.

Week 1 Predictions

The regular season is finally here and everyone is ready to go. Every week I am going to do my picks and my fantasy advice for players to start. Here's to a great season!

Game of the week: Bears vs Chargers: This one should be a great battle as some of the NFL's elite players are on display.

Game of the weak: Lions vs Raiders: Like I really had a choice

Last years predictions:153-102
Week One Predictions
Saints 24 Colts 28
Chiefs 14 Texans 21
Dolphins 13 Redskins 17
Broncos 35 Bills 10
Panthers 21 Rams 24
Steelers 35 Browns 7
Falcons 13 Vikings 20
Titans 10 Jaguars 24
Patriots 35 Jets 24
Eagles 28 Packers 21
Lions 21 Raiders 13
Bears 17 Chargers 28
Bucs 21 Seahawks 24
Giants 13 Cowboys 28
Ravens 14 Bengals 17
Cardinals 20 49ers 24

Fantasy Stud for each position:
QB: Matt Schaub vs Chiefs: Schaub has looked solid though preseason and the Chiefs defense isn't to good. Plus he always has Andre Johnson to throw the ball to.
RB: Willie Parker vs Browns: Parker is always at his best against his division foe. Parker should get at least 150 yards rushing and 2 touchdowns.
WR: Reggie Wayne vs Saints: The Colts have so many targets it will be hard for the Saints to cover them all. I will take Wayne on Jason Craft anyday.
TE: Vernon Davis vs Cardinals: Alex Smith has developed a lot over the past few years and Davis should help that development. Plus no Cardinals linebacker is fast enough to possibly cover Davis.
K: Josh Scobee vs Titans: Scobee should get lots of attempts against the Titans as the Jags should run on them all game.
Defense: Steelers vs Browns: The Browns are very inexperinced on offense which should make for a big game for the Steeler's exotic blitz schemes.
